(Arnolds Park)-There will be some new attractions at Arnolds Park Amusement Park this season. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Arnolds Park Amusement Park will open for the season on May 20.
CEO Jon Pausley says, membership cards can now be scanned. “You won’t have to stop at the ticket booth if you don’t want to, to get a wrist band. Your membership card can be scanned at all the rides. So, if you’re a member and you want to skip that line, you can just walk right in and ride the rides using your membership card.”
He adds that several new rides will be offered. “The final stage of The Legend refurbishment is complete which is great and it will be fun to ride the brand new ride when it’s all done. A smooth ride is what we know is gonna take place this summer on The Legend. So, no herky jerky, it should just be a great, smooth ride. We’re excited to have that project completed and finished up. Also, a new ride is in Upper Park. So, we have what’s called The Round Up, and you may have seen some of these rides before, where you stand up against the cage or on the outside, it spins you around real fast, and centrifugal force keeps you pushed up against the wall and it spins you around. Another exciting feature is the return of The Scrambler. So, The Scrambler has not been there for a couple of years. We sent that off to get that redone and the center fixed and refurbished. That is going to be back this year where The Octopus used to sit, so back in it’s original location, and we just moved The Octopus to another location. So, a few new rides and some things getting changed around up in Upper Park, and that’s always fun and exciting to come back and see something new.”
The new stage and concessions building are also complete.
