(Spencer)– Another business in the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation’s service area is bucking the national trend and announcing plans to expand.
Dennis Spooner, Managing Partner of the Arnold Group of Companies which includes Arnold Motor Supply, announced Tuesday they’ve acquired a 20,250-foot spec building at the Technical Park in west Spencer from Spencer Industries Foundation.
Spooner says work on rennovating the building is already underway. He says the expansion will include a blending facility, a training facility and office space for the company’s Industrial Coatings Division. Those facilities are currently located in Sioux City and at the Arnold Motor Supply auto parts store in downtown Spencer.
Arnold Motor Sypply has been based in Spencer since 1927, with facilities in five states in the midwest supplying the automotive replacement parts industry.
The company employs over 550 people, of which about 86 work in Spencer at the warehouse and the parts store.
Spoooner says the new training center in Spencer will bring customers from around the midwest for training.
