(Spirit Lake)– Several area high school jazz choirs turned in strong performances in the Iowa High School Music Association State Jazz Choir Festival held Monday evening.
The Spirit Lake High School Jazz Choir, directed by Duane Ites, received a division one-superior rating, as did the Okoboji High School Jazz Choir, directed by Erin Orness. The Harris-Lake Park Jazz Choir, directed by Kathy Greve, received a division two-excellent rating.
A total of 14 high school jazz choirs from northwest and north central Iowa competed.
