(Des Moines)—Several area communities have been awarded low interest loans from the state to assist with clean water projects.
The funding is being made available through a revolving loan fund that’s jointly administered by the Iowa Finance Authority and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
Locally, the city of Everly was awarded a $92,500 loan; Rolfe $393,000; Swea City $525,000 and Terril $600,000.
The funding will assist the cities in designing and constructing sanitary sewer projects.
A total of more than 92 million dollars was awarded statewide through the program, benefiting 27 projects in 18 counties.
