The Emmetsburg Municipal Airport will soon be brighter as a result of new grant money coming out of Washington D.C. The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration approved grants to three Iowa airports today (Wednesday) for safety and operations improvements. Emmetsburg Municipal Airport will receive $217, 962 to update the lighting at the facility. Independence Municipal and Northeast Iowa Regional also received grant money, totaling more than $500,000 for the three combined.
