(Arnolds Park)– Arnolds Park Fire and Rescue will hold a major fundraising event this weekend. Fire Chief Chris Yungbluth says they’ll be holding their 46th annual pancake feed at the Arnolds Park station today (Fri.) from 5:00 until 8:00 pm and tomorrow (Sat.) from 7:00 am until 12 Noon…
“We have the Milford Boy Scouts bring their kind of area famous pancakes and they grill those up for us, so it’s a fundraiser both for us and for them. Then we grill fresh sausage up on the grill and then it’s a choice of drinks. We’ve got milk and we’ll have pink lemonade I think this year is what we’ve got for our juice, and then of course, coffee available. And it’s all you can eat and it’s a pretty cheap breakfast or supper for ‘ya. It’s $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for kids.”
Yungbluth says the proceeds once again this year will go toward updating some equipment…
“Well, you know, each year we kind of try to pick a project that we’re looking at updating equipment or something, you know, where it just doesn’t quite fit into the city budget, and this year we’re kind of looking at some equipment for our dive rescue and water rescue team. That kind of is the focus for our area. And then we have a couple of pieces of other equipment that we’re looking at getting. It just depends on how good the funds come in and we’re just hoping to be able to raise some funds towards those purchases.”
Yungbluth says they’ll also have bounce house set up for kids, weather permitting.
