(Arnolds Park)– With two members absent, the Arnolds Park city council voted three-to-nothing Wednesday in favor of the city donating $10,000 toward the proposed installation of an electronic fish barrier near the Lower Gar Outlet. The barrier is intended to prevent Silver Asian carp, or the so-called “jumping fish”, from getting into the Iowa Great Lakes.

City Councilman John Adams, Senior says it only makes sense for the city of Arnolds Park, who’s motto is “city of five lakes” to contribute to such a cause.

The money will come from the city’s hotel/motel tax.
