(Spirit Lake)– Another season of fun is about to get underway at Camp Foster. Andrew Fisher, CEO of the YMCA of the Okoboji’s, which runs Camp Foster, tells KUOO news it’s going to be another summer of great memories, fun, and learning…
“We’re operating eight and-a-half weeks of camp this year with day camp and resident camp and so we have a full slate. We are going to have our largest attendance at camp since 2019 and so we’re excited about that, and a lot of returning staff which we’re extremely grateful to continue to provide a great experience for so many kids.”
Fisher adds it’s also an exciting time at Camp Foster when it comes to facility improvements…
“We’re in the final phase of fundraising for our visitor center project and are a little less than $200,000 away from our goal there and so working hard to close the gap on that to get that project started here in the very near future.”
That’s in addition to a number of other improvements at Camp Foster in recent years, including an airnasium.
