Another Round Of Winter Weather Is Headed Our Way After A Bit Of A Reprieve

December 17, 2025

(Undated)– Some more wintry weather is headed our way.

The National Weather Service says some rain will occur across the region tonight (Wed.) in advance of a strong cold front that will make its way through the region Thursday bringing strong wind and some snow showers that could temporarily reduce visibility. A high wind warning will be in effect from 9:00 am tomorrow (Thurs.) until 6:00 pm tomorrow (Thurs.) evening in Lyon and Sioux counties of northwest Iowa and Nobles and Rock counties in Minnesota for northwest winds that could gust up to 60 mph. A wind advisory will be in effect for the remainder of the region, including the Iowa Great Lakes, during that same time frame.

Much colder air will accompany the front with high temperatures occurring early in the day tomorrow (Thurs.) followed by falling temperatures. Lows Friday morning could be down around zero.

The arctic air will be short lived, however. Forecasters say temperatures will warm back up close to 30 for highs on Friday
