(Emmetsburg)– Emmetsburg police are alerting the public to yet another scam involving bank accounts.
Authorities say the latest involves people receiving calls claiming there is an issue with their bank accounts. The caller states that there is a problem with account numbers being incorrect or missing on deposits and statements.
Police say it’s another attempt by perpetrators to get personal information through unsuspecting victims. They say if you get such a call that you should simply hang up. If you have any questions about your bank accounts, you should contact your financial institution directly.
