(Sibley)– Another area school district is weighing options for making up snow days. The Sibley-Ocheyedan School Board will hold a public hearing February 13th on how to make up 60 student contact hours and 10 teachers days that have been missed so far.
A letter to district patrons says six options are being considered. They include adding 30 minutes to each school day; no early dismissals for the rest of the school year; extending teacher contracts by 30 minutes; using flex time for teachers to make up contract days not covered by the extended school day; adding any further missed time on to the end of the school year or considered for forgiveness by the school board; and the board would have to consider or not to forgive extra days for seniors.
The board will take action immediately following the hearing February 13th.
