(Okoboji)– An extremely well known businessman in the lakes area has passed away. Butch Parks died Tuesday evening. He was 81.
Parks founded Parks Marina and the iconic Barefoot Bar and Snappers. He would go on to purchase a number of other well known establishments in the Iowa Great Lakes, which he recently sold. Okoboji Boat Works, O’Farrell Sisters Restaurant, and the Central Emporium were among them.
Parks was also known for his support of a number of causes in the area.
A funeral service for 81-year-old Butch Parks of Okoboji will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 16th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. A gathering to remember Butch will be held Friday, January 16th beginning at 5:00 pm at Snappers in Okoboji. Please wear your favorite Barefoot apparel in memory of Butch.
