(Estherville)—Two people sustained minor injuries Monday in a crash involving an ambulance on Highway four north of Estherville.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says 27-year-old Cody Petersen of Graettinger was driving the ambulance, owned by the Palo Alto County Hospital, northbound about five miles north of Estherville when he lost control. The ambulance went into the south ditch and overturned onto its side.
Petersen and a paramedic, 29-year-old Joseph Lybarger of Estherville, sustained minor injuries. A passenger in the rear of the ambulance wasn’t injured. All three were transported by the Estherville Ambulance Service to Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.
About $10,000 in damage was estimated to the ambulance, a 1988 Ford Lifeline.
The crash took place shortly after 5:30 p.m.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Estherville Fire Department.
