(Sioux City)– An Algona man has pleaded guilty to a federal meth charge.
39-year-old Blaine Richardson pleaded guilty Monday to conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.
At a plea hearing, Richardson admitted to manufacturing atleast 1.5 kilograms of meth between 2003 and June 2009 in rural Kossuth county.
According to court documents, Richardson assisted co-conspirators Bruce Krug and Jeff Nelson with cooking meth at Krug’s farm. Richardson received methamphetamine from Krug and Nelson in return.
Nelson was sentenced August 27th of this year to over three years in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to manufacture more than 500 grams of meth.
Krug pled guilty to conspiracy to manufacture meth in October of this year and is awaiting sentencing.
Richardson remains in the custody of the United States Marshal pending sentencing.
He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment and a possible maximum sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, a four million dollar fine, and atleast five years and up to life on supervised release following any imprisonment.
