(Jackson, Mn.)– A massive expansion of one of the region’s largest employers is completed.
Officials with AGCO Thursday held a ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration on the 75,000 square foot addition onto its manufacturing center in Jackson. It will house production of Challenger and Massey Ferguson high-horsepower tractors.
Company officials say it will contribute more than $17 million dollars and 200 jobs to the local economy, bringing the total number of professional, support and skilled manufacturing positions at the Jackson plant to 1,050.
The expansion also houses the company’s “Intivity Center”…a 17,000 square foot state-of-the-art visitor center. It consists in part of a collection of historical artifacts and is expected to draw an estimated 10-thousand visitors a year.
