AGCO Expresses Interest In Acquiring Parent Company Of Case-New Holland

November 22, 2014

(Undated)– A U.S. manufacturer of agricultural equipment that has a strong presence locally is expressing interest in buying out Fiat’s CNH division, the parent company of Case and New Holland brands of farm equipment.

A report quotes an AGCO official as saying they’ve been talking to the company, but Fiat officials aren’t sure yet if they’re willing to sell and haven’t commented publicly.

Agco, who’s brands include Massey Ferguson, is moving ahead on a possible CNH merger by studying antitrust issues and looking into financing.

Agco Chief Martin Richenhaben has been quoted as saying his company is interested in organic growth, but was also ready for small and medium-sized acquisitions where needed.

AGCO operates a manufacturing plant in Jackson, that city’s major employer.
