Additional Details Released Into Southern Minnesota Shooting

(Truman, Mn.)– Additional details have been released in a shooting at a rural residence near Truman, Minnesota on July 3rd which injured four people. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office says all of the victims have since been released from their respective hospitals, and a suspect has been taken into custody. He’s identified as 18-year-old Lavant Shaw of Owatonna, Minnesota.

Authorities say the gathering at the rural Truman residence on July 3rd was shared on social media, and hundreds of people from numerous surrounding areas of Minnesota and Iowa were identified in that social media footage. After an altercation, shots were fired into the crowd, injuring the four victims, the suspect quickly fled the scene. After numerous interviews, search warrants were served and evidence was collected.
