Additional Details Released Into Shop Building Fire Near Estherville

February 10, 2026

(Estherville)– We’re learning additional details into a fire Monday afternoon that destroyed a large shop building near Estherville. Fire departments from Estherville, Gruver, Wallingford, Spirit Lake and Dunnell, Minnesota were called to 1485 385th Avenue north of Estherville a little after 4:00 pm and found the structure engulfed. The roof collapsed.

Estherville Fire Chief Travis Sheridan says vehicles, equipment and flammable materials in the building accelerated the fire, and that multiple explosions hindered firefighters. They were on the scene about five hours.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.

The Estherville Police Department and Emmet County Sheriff’s Office assisted on the scene.
