Additional Details Released Into Collision On Hwy 71 South Of Jackson

(Jackson, Mn.)– Authorities have released additional details into a two-vehicle collision Tuesday morning on Highway 71 five miles north of the Iowa-Minnesota border.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 27-year-old Maria Cruzbanegas of Estherville was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox northbound and 36-year-old Jordan Hawn of Spirit Lake was driving a 2011Nissan Maxima southbound when the two collided just north of 750th Street in Jackson county.

Cruzbanegas was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake; Hawn was transported by ambulance to the Jackson Medical Center. Their injuries were described as non-life threatening.

The collision took place a little before 5:30 am Tuesday. T

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson ambulance and the Jackson Fire Department assisted on the scene.
