(Twin Lakes)– The member of the Iowa Lakes Community College baseball team killed in Wednesday’s bus crash in Calhoun county has been identified as 19-year-old Carter Johnson of Rapid City, South Dakota. He was among 33 people on the bus when it left the road and rolled multiple times.
The crash happened around 11:30 am Wednesday on Highway 4, just west of Twin Lakes, near the intersection with Highway 20. 32 others on the bus, including the driver, were injured, some seriously. They were transported to area hospitals, some by air. Six others in an Iowa Lakes Community College van, which was not involved in the crash, were uninjured.
The team was en route to Arkansas for games today (Thurs.) and Friday at North Arkansas College in Harrison, Arkansas.

A vigil was held Wednesday evening at the Estherville campus of Iowa Lakes Community College. No classes are being held today (Thurs.) and Friday at the college.
