(Washington, D.C.)– U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack today (Wed.) issued a disaster designation affecting 25 Iowa counties, including some in our area.
Local counties affected by the latest designation are Dickinson, Clay, Emmet, O’Brien, Osceola and Palo Alto.
Producers should contact their local FSA offices for additional information. Farmers who seek to graze or harvest forage from Conservation Reserve Program acres should check with their local FSA office as well.
The designation stems from this summer’s drought.
