(Estherville)– Additional charges have been filed in connection with a crash January 21st of this year that claimed the life of Amanda Polzin, also known as Amanda Acord of Estherville.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says six additional charges have been filed against the driver of the vehicle in which Acord was a passenger. The additional charges against 29-year-old Jason Polzin include homicide by vehicle…a class “B” felony; two counts of operating while intoxicated…serious misdemeanors; failure to have control, failure to obey a stop sign and possession of drug paraphernalia…all simple misdemeanors.
Polzin was initially charged with leaving the scene of a fatality accident…a class “D” felony. Bond on that charge was set at $100,000 cash only. Bond on the additional charges was set at $36,400 cash or surety and an additional $975 in cash only.
Polzin remains in the Emmet county jail.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says the January 21st crash remains under investigation.
