(Storm Lake)– Another case of highly pathogenic avian influenza has been confirmed in Buena Vista county.
Officials with the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service say like a previous case, this one was also discovered in a commercial turkey flock. This particular case was confirmed today (Tuesday, Oct. 31st).
It comes on the heels of a previous case confirmed on October 20th in Buena Vista county.
USDA officials say commercial and backyard flock owners should prevent contact between their birds and wild birds.
Officials add the recent HPAI detections in birds do not present a public health concern.
