(Sioux Center)– Northwest Iowa residents who suffered damage during the June 2024 floods and severe storms may now qualify for significant federal assistance.
According to Sioux County Emergency Management, USDA Rural Development has opened applications for home repair grants — providing up to $44,000 to eligible homeowners. The program supports individuals who have already completed repairs or still require assistance making their homes safe and livable. The grants are available to those 18 years of age and older who meet the income guidelines set by the county, as well as the household size requirements. Income limits for a family of four range from $73,600 in Osceola County to $87,700 in Sioux County, with higher thresholds for larger families.
Eligible counties include Sioux, Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson, Lyon, O’Brien, and Osceola.
