(Manson, IA) A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred approximately 3 miles east of Manson, Iowa, on Saturday night. A van driven by 46-year-old Wilfredo Quevedo Mesa of Storm Lake, IA crossed the center line while traveling westbound on Iowa Highway 7 and collided with a pickup truck driven by 21-year-old Conner Darr of Manson, IA which was traveling eastbound. Both vehicles veered off the road, with the van rolling into a ditch and the truck striking a utility pole before stopping in a field. There were reportedly three unrestrained passengers in the back of the van. The crash resulted in two fatalities and four injuries:
As a result of the crash, two people were killed and four people were injured:
- Deceased: 26-year-old Alondra Bravo of Storm Lake, Iowa
- Deceased: 34-year-old Jorge Perez Hechavarria of Storm Lake, Iowa
- Injured: 8-year-old Luis Bravo of Storm Lake, Iowa
- Injured: 46-year-old Marina Escalante of Storm Lake, Iowa
- Injured: 46-year-old Wilfredo Quevedo Mesa of Storm Lake, Iowa
Injured: 21-year-old Conner Darr of Manson, Iowa
The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the incident.
