(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county is following suit nationally when it comes to the trend of absentee voting.
Dickinson County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Nancy Reiman told the board of supervisors this (Tuesday) morning 3,844 absentee ballots had been cast in the county. Of those, 361 were cast Monday alone.
That compares with approximately 2,400 absentee ballots cast in the 2004 Presidential Election.
Reiman is expecting 85 percent of the eligible voters in Dickinson county to turnout at the polls.
