Absentee Voting Continues For Tuesday’s Primary Election

May 30, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– Absentee voting continues in advance of Tuesday’s primary election. Jordan Moyer oversees elections for the Dickinson County Auditor’s Office. She says you can do that at the courthouse…

“We had a location change within the courthouse to our supervisors room, just kind of opening it up a little to get ready for the general election knowing it will be busy. We have about 140 people that have absentee voted so far.”

She adds if you plan to vote absentee, you need to do that soon…

“The have until the day before the election which is Monday, and the hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm on that Monday as well.”

Moyer also has some reminders for those planning to vote this Tuesday…

“You cannot come to the courthouse. You need to go to your respective polling location which you can find on our website under dickinsoncountyiowa.gov under auditor and elections. There’s actually a polling location link that you can click on. Polls are open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. With this being a primary election, it is a partisan election so you do need to choose a political party affiliation. If you are wanting to change on election day you can do so. We just ask that if you do change back or change again that you do that the week after the election.”

The only local race that’s on Tuesday’s ballot is for the Republican nomination for the 3rd district seat on the Dickinson County Board of Supervisors where incumbent Jeff Thee is squaring off against challenger Stephen Dullard. That’s in addition, of course to the 4th District Congressional race where republicans Randy Feenstra and Kevin Virgil are squaring off against each other.
