(Spencer)– Abben Cancer Center of Spencer Hospital is expanding its services. It was announced today (Mon.) the center will be opening an outreach clinic at Pocahontas Community Hospital February 28th. Oncologist Dr. Luis Cuervo will see patients at that location twice a month.
According to a press release, the initial services at the Pocahontas outreach clinic will consist of consultations, follow-ups, and non-chemotherapy treatments. Officials say eventually they plan to additionally offer lab work, imaging, and other supportive services at the Pocahontas location.
They add the fact Iowa ranks second in the nation for cancer incidence emphasizes the importance of Abben Cancer Center extending its services.
