(Undated)– A-A-R-P Iowa is on a road trip – taking knowledge to family caregivers wherever they are, helping them learn more about the resources that may be available to them. It’s part of the association’s larger effort to educate people about caregiving in Iowa.
A-A-R-P Iowa data show the state’s 330-thousand unpaid family caregivers provide 310-million hours of care every year in the state. That work is valued at more than 5-billion dollars. But A-A-R-P Iowa State Director Brad Anderson says caregivers are busy – and often don’t know what to expect or where to get information…
A-A-R-P is traveling the state in a big red R-V to distribute information. Anderson says they’re making stops at grocery stores, hospitals, clinics and pharmacies – the most likely places to run across people who have just inherited caregiving duties.
