A Well Known Former Lakes Area Chef Has Been Named General Manager Of The Inn

(Okoboji)—A well known Chef that’s no stranger to the Iowa Great Lakes has been named General Manager of the Inn At Okoboji Resort and Conference Center.

Officials with Texas-based DePalma Hotel Corporation, which owns and operates The Inn, announced this (Mon.) morning Thomas Wiley, commonly known locally as “Chef Tom”, has been appointed to the position.

Wiley will return to the Iowa Great Lakes from Tanzania, East Africa where he currently serves as Director of the Siouxland Tanzania Educational Medical Ministries based in Sioux City.

Wiley was the founding General Manager and Executive Chef for Red Steakhouse in Vermillion, South Dakota. He is also the former owner/operator of Gepetto’s On The Lake in Arnolds Park from 2005 until 2009 and owned and managed Wileywood Restaurant, formerly Bud’s Pub, at Brooks National Golf Club for two seasons. Wiley also operated a specialty foods business and had eight years of experience with Radisson Hotels and 10 years of experience with W.R. Restaurants…operators of Minerva’s Restaurants.

In addition to being named General Manager of the Inn, Chef Tom has also been appointed Corporate Chef for DePalma Hotel Corporation, working to develop food and beverage operations and concepts at its other locations.
