A Superior Man Hospitalized After Rollover

Icy conditions are to blame for a single-vehicle rollover in Dickinson County Wednesday evening. According to the a report from the county sheriff’s office, a 2006 Chevy Colorado pickup truck driven by 67-year old Arnold Rinke of Superior lost control on the ice and rolled onto it’s side upon entering the ditch. The accident occurred near the intersection of Highway 9 and 290th Avenue around 6:45pm.

The sheriff’s department was assisted on the scene by the Superior and Spirit Lake Fire Departments, the Milford Rescue Extraction Unit and the Lakes Regional Hospital Ambulance. Rinke had to be freed from the truck with extraction equipment and was transported to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries.

No word on Rinke’s condition yet. The truck was deemed a total loss.
