A Popular Event Put On By The IGL Rotary Club Is Back This Weekend With A Different Name

July 31, 2025

(Arnolds Park)– A popular event put on by the Iowa Great Lakes Rotary Club will be held this weekend. Club member Kathy Fahy says “Taste of Okoboji”, formerly known as “Okoboji Brew Fest”, will be held Saturday at the Central Park Shelter House in Arnolds Park…

“This year we decided to update the name to Taste of Okoboji mainly because we serve more than just craft beer tasting at this event. We’ve expanded and we’ve seen a lot more regional distilleries and wineries join us as well. We now have beer, wine and spirit tastings.”

Fahy says breweries, wineries and distilleries from throughout the region will be featured…

“16 breweries, six different distilleries and two wineries so we have quite the collection of things. Each vendor usually brings anywhere from two to five different things that people can try so there’s a variety of things including this year we have some non-alcoholic versions of things, we have some gluten free options. I think there’s a root beer that’s on the list, so we have a variety of things for people to try.”

Fahy says tickets for Saturday’s event are still available…

“And the 35 dollar ticket gets you basically unlimited tastings of any of those beer, wine and spirits samples from those regional breweries, wineries and distilleries. Tickets can be available at Tasteofokoboji.com, or Iowagreatlakesrotary.org, either place, or at the door.”

Fahy says proceeds go to various community projects the Iowa Great Lakes Rotary Club puts on…

“Particularly the last two years we’ve done a lot of things with behavioral health resources to both farmers and to students in our area schools. We’ve also done the playground at maintenance at Shelby’s Playground at Elinor Bedell State Park. In recent years we’ve also built an outdoor pavilion at Camp Foster, too. So all the proceeds go towards some of those local projects that the Rotary Club champions each year.”

“Taste of Okoboji” will be going on Saturday from Noon until 4:00 pm in the shelter house at Central Park in Arnolds Park, just off West Broadway Street.
