(Maurice)– A former Sioux County deputy sheriff and his wife are charged with seven counts of neglect of a dependent person. Caleb Haverdink and Jill Haverdink of Maurice were charged Thursday.
The two are foster parents and according to the criminal complaint “had prior knowledge of a child in their care committing numerous acts of sexual abuse and sexualized acts against other children” and did not take any action.
Caleb Haverdink was removed from his job on February 14 due to the allegations.
