(Estherville)– An investigation is underway after a woman was found unresponsive Monday night in Estherville. Estherville police say they were called shortly after 11:00 pm to the 200 block of South 17th Street after getting a report of a woman lying on the ground. The woman was taken by ambulance to Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville where she was later pronounced dead.
Police haven’t released the woman’s name. The body has been transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
A press release from the Estherville Police Department says no additional details are being released at this time, saying only that the matter remains under investigation, and “that there is no perceived threat to the public” stemming from the incident.
