A Company Proposing To Build A Carbon Capture Pipeline is Suing Four Landowners

September 09, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Undated)– A company that’s proposing to build a carbon capture pipeline across Iowa is suing four landowners, including one in Clay county, for not allowing surveyors onto their properties.

Navigator Heartland Greenway, LLC argues that Iowa Code gives them the right to enter private land to examine and survey it. They also say the property owners were sent certified letters informing them the surveys would be taking place.

Two of the four property owners have filed counter suits against Navigator. They argue the chapter of Iowa Code allowing surveyors onto private properties is unconstitutional.

Navigator is one of two companies proposing to build carbon capture pipelines in Iowa. The other is Summit Carbon Solutions.
