(Spencer)– Work on a bridge project in Spencer is scheduled to get underway next week. A social media post from the city says crews will begin work on the West 18th Street bridge replacement project January 26th .
City officials say the intersection of Country Club Lane and West 18th Street will be closed during the duration of the project and that residents in that area will need to use West 4th Street. Access to Stolley Park will be available by using the intersection of West 18th Street and 32nd Avenue West. They add that West 18th Street from Country Club Drive and to the west will be restricted to local traffic only.
The project involves demolition of the existing bridge, construction of a new one and realigning the north portion of Country Club Drive. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2026.
