5 Vehicle Chain Reaction Collision Sends One Person To Hospital

(Spencer)– A five-vehicle chain reaction collision Monday on 11th Street southwest near the South “T” in Spencer sent one person to the hospital and resulted in possible injuries to another.

Spencer police say it involved vehicles driven by 29-year-old Ryan Buckendahl of Spirit Lake, 23-year-old Kayla Barnett of Rembrandt, 33-year-old Candace Anderson of Marathon, 59-year-old John Sheridan of Greenville and 36-year-old Katherine Meyers of Spencer.

Anderson sustained incapacitating injuries and was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital. Possible injuries were reported to Sheridan, but he was not transported to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.

Minor damage was reported to vehicles driven by Buckendahl and Sheridan; disabling damage was reported to the vehicle driven by Barnett and functional damage was reported to the one driven by Anderson. No damage was reported to the vehicle Meyers was driving.

The collision took place shortly before 12:30 p.m.
