(Undated)– Road work will have motorists in some portions of northwest Iowa looking for alternative routes this Fourth of July holiday weekend.
The Iowa Department of Transportation says drivers need to plan ahead and be prepared for delays and detours in some areas.
A number of those are here in northwest Iowa.
A portion of Highway 18 southeast of Spencer remains closed for a bridge replacement project. A detour in place in that area.
Iowa Highway three near Buena Vista County Road M-31 about 13 miles east of Cherokee is closed, also for a bridge replacement project. Traffic is being detoured in that area as well.
And Highway 15 five miles north of Rolfe in Pocahontas county is closed for a bridge deck replacement project. A detour is also in effect in that area.
