12th Annual Family Fest on tap March 4th at Clay County Fair and Events Center

February 27, 2023 Becky Thoreson

(Spencer)-It’s Family Fest in Spencer on Saturday. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:

The Clay County Fair and Events Center will present Family Fest on Saturday, March 4th.

CEO Jeremy Parsons says, it’s a full day of free family fun. “It’s the 12th anniversary of this event. It’s really all about giving families the opportunity to get out of the house and do a lot of hands-on, fun, educational activities together, and that ranges from Safety City to The Ag Zone, to STEM activities, to local nonprofit booths. It’s completely free to the public, and we’ve got some great sponsors that help us put that on. Again, I think of Safety City, it’s a chance for you to interact with local law enforcement, firefighters and EMT staff. Get in a fire truck, get in an ambulance, and brand new this year is The Ag Zone, which is a lot of hands-on, educational activities to learn about ag safety, and The Iowa Egg Council and The Iowa Corn Growers Association. The YMCA Kid’s Zone will have a bounce house and, of course, ISU Extension Clay County is here with Bunny Hopping and a Petting Zoo, just a wide variety of fun things for families to enjoy. “

He adds that food will be available for purchase. “A great menu put together by our Blue Ribbon Catering Staff and a good place to eat lunch, as well.”

Family Fest will run from 9-2 on Saturday.
