10 OHS Students Accepted To NW Iowa Honor Band

(Milford)– Ten Okoboji High School students have been accepted to the Northwest Iowa Honor Band Festival.
 
Approximately 300 of the finest instrumental music students from northwest Iowa auditioned for a position in one of the two equal 95 piece bands.

OHS students accepted to the honor band festival include seniors Morgan Nielsen on bass clarinet, Alex Adams on trumpet, and Sydney Boeckholt on trombone; junior Tyler Ohl on trumpet; sophomores Mallory Luers on clarinet, Tom Mayer and Anna Seeger on trombone, Dalton Adams on euphonium, and Brittany Kolbeck on percussion; and freshman Kaycee Arrowood on clarinet..
Guest conductors for this year’s honor band festival are Dr. Timothy McGarvey from Northwestern College and Dr. Myron Welch from the University of Iowa.

The festival concert will take place on the campus of Morningside College in Sioux City on Saturday, January 5. Okoboji High School band director is Greg Forney, assisted by Julie Forney.
