AMES, Iowa—Iowa Learning Farms will host a relay…
Friday, June 27, 2025 – 5:00pm-6:00pm – Dickinson County Nature Center
Does your family like watching birds, or are you looking to learn more about them? Join the Dickinson County Nature Center on Friday, June 27th, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. for Family Nature Night: Backyard Birds.
Families can look forward to an hour of hands-on activities! Participate as a group to identify bird species in Iowa and compare various eggs and nests. Learn about the different beak adaptations and bird diets. Go on a bird hike to spot some feathered friends and make a bird feeder to take home.
“Birding is a wonderful way to slow down and connect with nature as a family. Taking in natural surroundings by listening and watching for birds allows families to decompress from the week’s busyness,” said Amy Heibult, community relations coordinator of the Dickinson County Conservation
Board.
Preregistration is required to attend this free program; visit the Program/Events page at www.dickinsoncountyconservationboard.com for details. Like and follow the Dickinson County Nature Center on social media and call 712-336-6352 with any questions.
