SANTA GRIMACE IS COMING TO TOWN!
December 06, 2025
McDonald’s Okoboji
Stop by your local McDonald’s – 1006 Stakeout…
The recent snow in the region has finally made suitable conditions to open the Horseshoe Bend Sports
Area, located at 1924 240th St., Milford. The tubing hill will be open Saturday and Sunday, December 6
and 7, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Day passes to rent tubes are available for $15 per person with cash or check only (no ATM available). To
access the large tubing hill, a day pass is required. Personal tubes, sleds, and other sports equipment are
not permitted on the tubing hill; however, they can be used on the shorter hill located east of the
warming house at no cost. Seasonal passes are not available for the 2025-2026 season. Minors must
have a chaperone on site at all times.
An automated tow rope is available to go back up the hill, and if it gets chilly, enjoy a cozy central stone
fireplace in the warming house. Concessions will be available for purchase, and visitors can also bring
their own food and supplies into the warming house.
If conditions are suitable and there is sufficient snowpack, the hill will be scheduled to open on
Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Weekly announcement of openings will be posted
to the Dickinson County Nature Center Facebook page and online at
https://dickinsoncountyconservationboard.com/horseshoe-bend-tubing-hill.
