No School for your child? Need something safe and fun for them to do while you’re
at work? The Dickinson County Nature Center is offering two opportunities of No School Day Camps on
March 16 and 20.
On Monday, March 16, from 9 AM-3 PM, 4th-8th graders are invited to Horseshoe Bend for
Outdoor Day No School Day Camp where participants will get to learn about ecology through a food web
game, archery, paint a flower pot to take home, go on a spring hike, practice knot tying, play a fishing
themed game, and decorate and fly a kite.
On Friday, March 20, from 9 AM-3 PM, K-3rd graders can dress up as their favorite superhero
and explore the Nature Center for Animal Superheroes No School Day Camp. Learn about animal
adaptations with a scavenger hunt, meet some live super snakes, play an animal superpowers Olympic
styled game, enjoy playing outside in the Nature Playscape, take on a camouflage challenge, and make a
“Super You” craft to take home.
Both camps require registration online at www.dickinsoncountyconservationboard.com under
Programs/Events tab and Event List. The cost is $15/child for both events and limited to 20 registrants.
Two snacks will be provided, and campers are required to bring a sack lunch and water bottle. Get some
friends together to enjoy a fun day in nature’s classroom!
