Come learn about helping senior pets live their best lives….
Get ready for an adventurous evening in nature! The Dickinson County Nature Center
invites families to join in on Family Nature Night: Howlin’ Halloween Hike on Friday, October 24th, from
5:00-6:30 p.m
During this special fall event, families will take part in a guided “boo-tanical” hike, where plants
come to life through creative skits performed by volunteers. Before or after the hike, children can
complete a plant-themed scavenger hunt, learning fun facts about some freaky plants found here and
around the globe.
The evening doesn’t stop there; participants will also get to paint their own flowerpot and
receive a temporary bat tattoo.
“This event brings a playful twist to learning about plants,” said Amy Heibult, community
relations coordinator of the Dickinson County Conservation Board. “We love seeing families make
memories, especially when it involves creativity, curiosity, and nature.”
Families can sign up for one of three time slots to do the hike. Attendees are encouraged to
wear walking shoes and dress for the weather. Other activities can be enjoyed before or after the
desired hiking time.
Preregistration is required to attend this free event by visiting the Program/Events page at
