(Okoboji)– The city of Okoboji will hold its annual Clean-Up Day this coming Monday, June 2nd. City Administrator Michael Meyers says it will be that one day only. He says residents are asked to keep a few things in mind when setting things out for pick up…
“Just keep the weight to something that’s reasonable and have all of your items at the curb that morning no later than 7:00 am. Or guys get going pretty early so the earlier that they can be there, the better. As far as planks, boards, things of that nature, we like people to have those cut to be six foot or shorter. The reason for that is because that’s just what fits in our trucks and our equipment. And the things we absolutely do not take would be things like battery, paint, insecticide and other kind of hazardous waste type material. If you do have that type of material give us a call. We can direct you on where to take that. We still require our typical green tag items so things like appliances, electronics, televisions, large stuffed furniture, tires and things of that nature, still require a tag to be purchased. So residents can come to city hall any time between 8:00 and 4:30 Monday through Friday to get a tag for those items.”

Meyers says tagged items likely won’t get picked up until the next day, Tuesday, June 3rd. Anyone with questions should call 332-2550.
