Weiss wins WoO late models at Jackson; Rapid winners
JACKSON - Ricky Weiss was the winner on the first night of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series visit to Jackson Motorplex. The second win took him only eight races.
The Headingley, Manitoba, Canada driver led from start to finish. He rocketed around the outside and drove by Brent Larson (Lake Elmo) into Turn 1 and went on to the win.
Series points leader Brandon Sheppard (New Berlin, Ill.) finished second. Weiss is second in points, now 54 points out of the top spot.
Racing is scheduled again Saturday night with a $20,000-to-win, $1,000-to-start program. No fans are being permitted in either the grandstand or pits.
