Comments From H-LP Boys Coach Tyler Vaudt

I am extremely proud of these boys on a terrific performance today.  They came up so close to achieving one of our goals of a conference title.  Runner Up is a terrific accomplishment and the boys know just a couple bad rounds in the first week of play was the difference between the title and us finishing in 2nd, but with the limited outside prep time this was an amazing result.  We were even able to have 3 boys finish in 1st Team All Conference for the War Eagle.  (Sent in Next Email)
Lucas played very solid golf today in such windy conditions but the thing that helped him was his short game and course management.  He used his head in many situations where a lot of freshman would have possibly taken a bigger number and minimized any mistakes.  Bret was able to use his strength with hitting the ball long off the tee to help shorten the golf course, but his 33 putts took him to the mid 80s instead of the low 80s.  Adrian was the exact opposite he was not hitting the ball the best but he was able to make putts to help him bring in a good score for the team.  Jaxson was able to find his driver when he needed it the most but just a couple bigger scores took him to the high 80s.  Isaac had a tough time with the speed of the greens and a couple times he found himself on the tough part of the green which led some of his three putts, but he still was able to bring in a score in the 80s which was a grind.  I was glad to see Bryce find his game on the back 9 after he struggled on the front 9 which will hopefully catapult him into sectional play later this week.
