Unity Christian Baseball Edges H-LP

The Unity Christian baseball team scored 4 runs on just 3 hits but took advantage of errors, walks and wild pitches and beat Harris-Lake Park 4-2 Monday night in Orange City.  The Knights scored 2 runs in the 1st inning, 1 in the 3rd inning and an insurance run in the 6th inning.  H-LP would score 1 in the 4th inning and 1 in the 6 inning.  The Wolves would leave 11 base runners on base and in every inning had a base runner in scoring position.  They were led by Isaac Ihnen going 1-3 with and RBI and Jordan Kyle was 1-2 with a triple and 2 walks.  The winning pitcher was Cole Vande Vegte going 5 innings and giving up 1 run on 5 hits with 6 strikeouts.  The losing pitcher was Jordan Kyle.  He went 3 innings and gave up 3 runs on 2 hits with 5 strikeouts and 4 walks.  H-LP did also commit 5 errors and the pitching combined for 6 walks.


Harris-Lake Park falls to 7-2 and will have a varsity double header against Trinity Christian Tuesday.  Unity Christian improves to 9-6 and will host Sioux Center Tuesday.
