Two weekend events scheduled at Motorplex
JACKSON - A pair of events are on the schedule at Jackson Motorplex this weekend, starting with a Friday shown that features the Midwest Sprint Touring Series 360 sprint cars, RaceSaver sprint cars and NSL non-wing sprint cars.
Saturday brings the rescheduled IMCA Frostbuster that will have IMCA A mods, IMCA sport mods, IMCA stock cars, IMCA hobby stocks and IMCA sport compacts.
The second 360 winged sprint car show of the season starts the weekend.
Ryan Bickett held off Jack Dover two weeks ago to claim the opening round of the Midwest Power Series.
Bickett stands fifth in the MSTS standings. Lee Grosz is in first place, leading Dover by 51 points, Jody Rosenboom by 57, Tommy Barber 113 and Bickett 161.
Trevor Serbus has a three-point lead over Kaleb Johnson and Jacob Hughes in the Steel RaceSaver sprint cars standings.
In the NSL non-wing sprint cars, Alex Schriever holds a 12-point advantage over Brandon Halverson.
Then, hopefully the third time will be the charm for the IMCA Frostbuster, which has been delayed twice.
All IMCA divisions will be presented a unique opportunity as the winner’s payout in the A Main will be doubled if 24 or more cars show up in a class.
Without the bonus, IMCA A mods will race for $600 to win, IMCA stock cars and IMCA sport mods $500, IMCA hobby stocks $300 and sport compacts $100.
Hot laps are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday.
