Trojans take two from Lakers
MASON CITY – NIACC took both ends of an Iowa Community College Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader from Iowa Lakes Sunday as the Trojans beat the Lakers 7-1 and 12-4.
In the first game, Martin County West graduate Brandon Williamson struck out 12 batters in six innings for the Trojans, scattering six hits.
He now has 134 career strikeouts, which ranks second on NIACC's career list. Williamson has 87 strikeouts in 55 innings this season, third on the school's single-season list.
It's the third time Williamson struck out at least 10 in a league start.
Spenser Larson had an RBI single to drive in ILCC's lone run in the opener.
In the second game, Larson had an RBI double, while Ashtin Moxey had an RBI single.
The Lakers are slated to play two at Century College Tuesday.
